A Fresh Canvas for the Winona Arts Center
The Winona Arts Center has long been a creative hub for the community, offering exhibits, performances, classes, and events that celebrate the arts. As the organization continued to grow, it was time for a website refresh that better reflected its expanding programming while making it easier for visitors—and volunteers—to keep everything up to date.
We redesigned the existing WordPress website with a clean, modern look and a stronger focus on usability. Navigation was reorganized so visitors can quickly find exhibits, events, classes, news, and opportunities to get involved. A refreshed news section helps highlight upcoming activities, calls for artists, and other important updates, ensuring the community stays connected to what’s happening.
A major focus of the redesign was creating a better event experience. The new site features a unified events system that organizes activities in one easy-to-browse calendar, while dedicated category pages allow visitors to explore events by interest. Exhibits also received special attention with custom layouts that showcase artist biographies, image galleries, and exhibit details, along with an archive that preserves the Center’s growing artistic history.
Behind the scenes, the site was built to be easy for volunteer administrators to manage, with intuitive editing tools and a flexible WordPress platform supported by ongoing hosting, maintenance, and training.
The result is a welcoming, mobile-friendly website that reflects the creativity of the Winona Arts Center while making it easier than ever for the community to discover, participate in, and support the arts.
