Website Update: Winona County SWCD

Published On: January 17th, 2024|Categories: Lewiston, MN, News, Professional Services|

The Winona County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) first began in 1938 after earlier erosion control success in the Root River Valley. Over 80 years later, preserving our area’s natural resources is still a top priority, and SWCD’s mission to protect our land for future generations is as strong as ever!

The Environmental Website Design Process

There are a lot of benefits to upgrading to a modern website. With their new site, SWCD can spend less time navigating an outdated site and more time promoting conservation efforts through online resources, assistance programs, and more. It also means easier online edits, faster load speeds, and better visitor accessibility.

Tree sales are among the most popular programs offered by SWCD. We used the website refresh to incorporate a brand-new online store feature. Visitors can now order and pay in one place with the secure ecommerce platform. It is also incredibly user-friendly, allowing SWCD staff to run and update the store throughout the tree sale season.

As with all technology, there can be a learning curve. This is why all our website designs include training sessions where we teach users how to manage their website and make basic updates. We also continue to answer questions and assist in changes even after the website project is complete.
